Good news for people who love bad news

I’ve mentioned previously on this blog how I’m finding it harder and harder to find any street art/graffiti in this lovely city of mine (Sydney). Now the lovely premier Barry O’Farrell has demonstrated why.

4/5 of his anti-graffiti bills are also expected to pass through the upper house this week: The Attorney-General, Greg Smith, said the new laws would require juvenile graffiti vandals to appear before the court for a graffiti offense, give courts the power to extend the time graffiti offenders spend on learner or provisional licences and limit the number of demerit points they are able to accrue over a specific period. The O’Farrell Government has also cut $5.5 million in funding from the Department of Attorney General and Justice’s Crime Prevention Division – which funds grants for councils to run graffiti prevention programs. Read more

    Sounds as though there should be more appearing soon, juice! Btw, have you seen There is a lot to find in Sheffield, although the local council there is doing a clean-up.
